Sleep in spacious canvas tents with ensuite bathrooms; dine on Sri Lankan or western cuisine under a starlit sky and explore the jungles of Wilpattu by jeep with a picnic basket in hand. This unique camping experience is hands-down the best way to see Wilpattu. Staying on the border of the park and dining under the stars is an unforgettable experience. It’s great for anyone looking to add a little adventure to their trip.

Why we like Leopard Trails Camp Wilpattu

Get off the beaten track and visit Wilpattu. Camp under canvas and get up close to nature. With the arrival of luxury tents, it is now worth spending three nights in the wild. With private bathrooms and delicious food set out under the trees, visitors have unlimited safaris in the park. The lucky few will find leopards, but all will find families of elephants wandering freely in the scrub.

Facilities

Leopard Trails Wilpattu has three classic tents and two luxury tents ideal for families. The classic tents are all fitted with air-conditioning and each has an open-air shower. The luxury tents benefit from more space and an indoor shower with solar-powered hot water.

Activities

The Leopard Trails ‘all-inclusive’ package covers: tented accommodation; two game drives per day in a customised safari game-viewing vehicle, services of an experienced guide; snacks and drinks on game drives; breakfast, lunch and dinner at camp; water, fruit juices, soft drinks, tea and coffee; wine, beer, spirits; all park entry fees, and transfers to and from the park entrance to Leopard Trails campsite.

What to expect on Camp

Upon arrival, guests are welcomed with a cool drink, followed by a briefing by the in-house naturalist and host. After lunch and a short rest, set off on an afternoon game drive. Once back at the camp in the evening, relax with a drink on the veranda of your tent. At nightfall, meet around a bonfire and share your adventures before dinner.

Family Friendly Camp

Families are well catered for at Leopard Trails with a fantastic Junior Ranger programme for children. Leopard Trails does much to conserve the natural environment and educate their guests on environmental conservation in order to minimise the impact on the surrounding wilderness. If a group or family would like to request a private jeep safari we can arrange this with advance notice.
