The main lodge boasts a large verandah and deck overlooking the gorge, making it an ideal setting for sundowners and wildlife spotting.
Set in boulders on the cliff edge, the heated swimming pool provides an incredible panorama across the reserve while you relax between exploring. Ant’s Hill can sleep up to 16 guests and can be booked non-exclusively and exclusively by one group at a time. Whether you are a solo traveller, on your honeymoon or travelling with friends or family, this lodge has perfect accommodation to suit your needs.
Day or night game drives are available to guests in an open 4×4 viewer to explore the African bush, discovering over 40 species of animal and over 300 species of resident and migrant birds. Whether it be a morning drive after a homemade breakfast, or an afternoon drive ending with a sundowner on spectacular viewpoints, each day is tailored to you. Embark on a night game drive in search of elusive nocturnal animals like the rare brown hyena, porcupine and, if you are incredibly lucky, a leopard.
Alternatively, enjoy a horseback safari to get up close and personal with wildlife; horses are seen as part of daily life by other animals and there will never be more than six guests per ride. Walking safaris are fantastic for exploring the bushveld on foot; gain intimate knowledge of the fauna and flora, recognise tracks and find out the tell tale signs of how to differentiate between male and female. Whether a gentle stroll or energetic hike over the plains, experience the sights, sounds and smells of the wild. Day trips to Big Five game reserves, bushman painting tours, sky safaris and wine tastings can all be organised.
The Ant Collection supports Waterberg Rhino UK, a charity aiming to increase the security and protection of rhinos, prevent rhino poaching, educate the local community and get involved in conservation.
The Ant Collection is found in the Waterberg Mountains in the Limpopo Province, three hours drive from Johannesburg, four hours east of Madikwe and six hours west of Kruger National Park.
