Iguacu Falls, Brazil

Iguacu

Straddled between the borders of Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay, the Iguacu Falls is a magnificent sight with some 275 individual waterfalls spread across a plateau of almost three kilometres.

A visit to both the Brazilian and Argentinean side of the falls is highly recommended to fully appreciate the dramatic spectacle. Almost constant rainbows frame the panoramic views across the Devil’s Throat, split in two by the border, from the Argentine side gaze into the misty depths.

A little more about the Iguacu Falls

The sub-tropical forest of Iguaçu National Park, which surrounds the falls, is teeming with exotic birds and wildlife, among them capybara, caiman, toucans, butterflies and coatis. There are even rare sightings of the ever-elusive jaguar! Visitors should explore the numerous nature trails that weave along the rim and base of the falls, almost guaranteeing an early morning encounter with mischievous coatis. Make your experience of Iguacu Falls unforgettable with a Macuco safari and raft along the raging rapids of Rio Iguacu.
