Akawanka Lodge

Akawanka Lodge is located in peaceful countryside just 1km outside San Agustin and offers tremendous views of the surrounding Andean scenery.

There are just 22 rooms, all of which are decorated with pictures of and are named after animals that have been painted by one of the hotel’s gifted staff members.

This is an ideal base for exploring the region including the archaeological parks of San Agustin and nearby Alto de Los Idolos and Alto de las Piedras. All rooms share a terrace or balcony with a view. Other activities available include rafting, canyoning, mountain biking and trekking. Akawanka is a homely retreat of comfortable rooms, local art and organically grown food. There is a fun bar, a relaxing garden and the coffee is delicious.
