Overlooking Lake Sarmiento and the majestic granite towers of Torres del Paine National Park, Tierra Patagonia Hotel & Spa is a native lenga wood structure that rises discreetly from the earth at the “End of the World”.

Subtly weaved in to the encompassing landscape, the property boasts a truly spectacular aromatherapy spa with a heated pool that enjoys panoramic views through glass walls, and features an enormous open plan lounge and Patagonian restaurant that overlooks the same wild landscape through wall-to-wall windows.

Its 40 tranquil rooms are elegantly clad in wood and decorated with deep-soak bathtubs, plush local textiles and cosy rugs. Each boasts uninterrupted views from the bed towards the emerald lake and snow-capped mountains, and it is not uncommon to spot grazing guanacos or even an elusive puma passing by.

Sustainability

Tierra Patagonia works alongside the Forestry Association in support of a reforestation project that aims to plant one million trees throughout Chilean Patagonia. During the construction of the property, its landscape architects collected all of the on-site vegetation to be temporarily nurtured in a greenhouse before being replanted so as to reduce the buildings environmental impact.

Activities

Pedal over undulating landscapes during long-distance biking excursions, hike the Hunter’s Trail to see Aonikenk rock wall cave paintings, discover ancient geology around Lake Sarmiento, or ride across pampas towards the Paine Massif.

Take to the glacial waters and kayak around towering ice on Lake Grey or discover the lesser known Pingo Valley with its pristine forests and gushing waterfalls.
